Why Choose Tidy Den?
Tidy Den is a Queer, Trans, Neurodivergent-run Personal Home Organization Business for the LGBTQIA+ Neurodivergent Community in Western Mass.
These past few years we have all found ourselves spending much more time at home. Stress, executive function, and evolving abilities change our spaces to showcase what we are internally experiencing. Taking care of our homes and creating systems that work with current routines and specific needs is an important part of self-care. Tidy Den not only takes care of your home but also your well-being.
Let's Meet

In 2020, I graduated from Wellesley College and moved to Western Massachusetts. Throughout the first two years of this ever-evolving pandemic, I worked as a caretaker and an educator. I deeply enjoyed my work with children and their families, however my ethics and values were not reflected back by the sterile and corrupt systems I worked for. As a queer, trans, and neurodivergent person, I was often made to feel unsafe in the workplace. My home was my retreat: filled with warm hearts and furry friends. However, everyday I came home with fewer and fewer "spoons" and I had less and less motivation to care for myself, let alone my spaces. It is unfortunate just how common this experience is, specifically for neurodiverse LGBTQIA+ individuals.
In 2022, I finally realized that I can do what brings me joy and create spaces for my community that we deserve. Spaces that help ease stress and overwhelm, that embrace differences, and that prioritize accessibility and a sense of safety and calm for neurodivergent LGBTQIA+ individuals. That is the seed from which Tidy Den grew.

Tidy Den provides personal home organization adjustments that are responsive to the way you are already living in your home. In the process, I strive to foster a safe space for my clients to unmask and feel comfortable sharing their habits, needs, and the reality of their executive function. Together we brainstorm solutions that are functional, accessible, maintainable and satisfying. If you are interested in the process and would like to continue your organization journey, feel free to contact me and schedule a free consultation.
Hi there! My name is Sterling (they/them) and I am a queer, trans, neurodivergent personal home organizer. Organizing has been a special interest of mine ever since I can remember. I wasn't diagnosed with Autism or ADHD for the majority of my life, so I had to create my own way to navigate this neurotypical-centered world. Organization helped me feel secure in spaces where I often felt disoriented or overwhelmed. Imagine a young Sterling lost in the grocery store, wandering alone through the aisles, but happily tidying the shelves. I discovered that I could adjust my surroundings to accommodate my unique needs and patterns. I started to use these coping skills to help those around me who needed similar supports. I found a sense of purpose in curating spaces to make others' lives easier.

Spices in various bottles of different sizes and types. They are less compact and uniform, therefore they are harder to store and read for my client with visibility accommodations.
